Alternate Colors Available

Weight

This pack comes in one size only, and only weighs 76.8oz. Although this is not ultralight, it is very light for a pack with as many comparable features.

Comfort/Fit

The most notable features that make this pack both comfortable and easy to fit, are the torso length adjustment, the flexible hip belt, and the adjustable straps.

Torso length adjustment:

The torso length adjustment system lets you set the back length to fit anywhere between a 15″ – 21″ torso length.

Flexible hip belt :

The hip belt is flexible and moves as you walk, keeping the load on your hips. It is very sturdy and supportive. The hip belt is also adjustable on both sides, from 32″ – 36″.

Adjustable straps:

The shoulder straps are adjustable at the top and the sternum strap is also adjustable and can be slid up and down to find the right fit.

The sternum strap also has a whistle on the buckle.

Possible fit issues for some users:

It is most comfortable if you can keep the load down below around 35-40 pounds.

It’s not suitable for people with especially short (under 15″) or long (over 21″) torsos.

Storage

There are many different compartments to keep things well organized: the main compartment, the bottom compartment, the +10 L top lid, a stretchy pouch on the front of the bag, a hip pouch pocket, and two mesh water bottle pockets on the side.

In addition to these pockets for packing your gear, there are also 2 extra outer loops, many compression straps, and a compartment for water bladder storage.

Main compartment:

The main compartment is spacious and can be accessed from the top of the pack as well as a pocket in one of the sides.

Bottom compartment:

The bottom compartment is actually large enough to fit a sleeping bag, even 4 season ones if they are compressible.

There is separator between the two compartments that can be unzipped to let you use them both as one big compartment.

+10 L top lid:

The “+10” in the name is a fold-up extension to the body of the pack. This provides up to an additional 10 L capacity when needed. The lid has straps that can be adjusted according to the height of the bag depending on how much of the extra 10L is filled.
There is a mesh zippered pocked on the underside of the top cover, so contents are visible.

Hip pouch pocket:

The pocket on hip belt is very convenient to quickly grab things without having to get in to the back or main part of the pack. It’s the perfect place for you camera or a snack.

Expandable side pouch:

One side of the pack has a pocket that can be filled to the point that it expands to the outside of the pack, filling the extra material that can be packed inside when not in use.
This side pocket is great for extra storage but it can get in the way of the water bottle access to the mesh pocket below it.

Mesh water bottle side pockets:

There is a water bottle pocket on each side, and they securely fit 32oz water bottles.

Extra outer loops:

The extra outer loops are great for carrying trekking poles, or ice axes.

Compression straps:

There are 2 compression straps on the front of the bottom sleeping bag compartment. These can be used to either carry a sleeping pad or sleeping bag on the outside of the pack, or just to compres the bag around the sleeping bag compartment.

There are 2 compression straps on the back of the main compartment that can be used to compress the load or to carry even more gear.

There are 2 compression straps on the top of the lid that are removable too.

Lastly, there are 2 compressions straps on either side of the pack too. On one side they can help keep down the side pocket which is expandable.

Water bladder storage:

The bag has a compartment for water bladder storage which supports most common water hydration systems, and there are hooks up top to keep it from sliding down.

Durability

Material:

This backpack is made of water-resistant Terylene, and ripstop Polyester fabrics. These fabrics are lightweight, flexible, and water resistant.

The outside of the pack is very durable and the fabric is reinforced in some areas to make it more sturdy.

Rain Protection:

Although the outside of the pack is water resistant, only small amounts of water will bead and run off. The zippers are covered with a flap of fabric to help keep water from leaking in to the pack, but for really rainy or wet weather, you’re going to want to use the rain cover.

A waterproof rain cover is included and it is stored in the bottom pocket when not in use.

Fasteners and Zippers:

The large fasteners on the belt buckle and shoulder straps are strong and sturdy. They don’t seem fragile or flimsy.

The zippers are all really good quality and protected by a flap of fabric to repel water.
